Why Foundation Quality Matters

Proper Excavation and Soil Preparation

We excavate to the depth required by code and soil conditions. Footings must rest on undisturbed soil or properly compacted fill. We never pour on frozen ground, mud, or standing water.

Adequate Footing Size

Footings must be wide enough and thick enough to distribute the building weight without settling. We follow engineering specifications and local building codes to size footings correctly for your structure and soil type.

Proper Reinforcement

Rebar reinforcement ties the concrete together and provides tensile strength. We place rebar according to structural requirements and ensure proper spacing and coverage.

Waterproofing and Drainage

Foundations need protection from moisture. We apply waterproofing coatings or membranes and install drainage systems to keep water away from your foundation walls.

Level and Plumb Construction

Foundation walls must be level, plumb, and square. Mistakes at the foundation level compound as construction proceeds upward. We use laser levels and careful measurements to ensure accuracy.

Our Foundation Installation Process

Building a foundation is a complex process that requires coordination and expertise. Here is how we handle foundation projects:

• •Site Layout: We work from architectural plans to lay out the foundation location precisely, marking corners and checking dimensions.
• •Excavation: We excavate to the required depth, creating level footing trenches and clear workspace for forming and pouring.
• •Footing Pour: We install forms, place reinforcing steel, and pour footings to specifications. Footings must cure before wall work begins.
• •Wall Forms: We build strong, plumb forms for foundation walls, installing rebar and anchor bolts as required.
• •Concrete Pour: We pour walls in one continuous operation when possible, vibrating the concrete to eliminate voids and ensure solid walls.
• •Curing and Waterproofing: After forms are stripped, we apply waterproofing materials and protect the foundation during curing.
• •Backfilling and Drainage: We install drainage systems, then carefully backfill around the foundation in layers to avoid damaging the new walls.

Throughout the process, we coordinate inspections with building officials to ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.
